Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe is ready to hand Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a huge boost by returning in time for Sunday’s clash against Norwich City. The centre-back was selected to start in a back three against Liverpool on Sunday but he pulled up in the warm-up and was replaced by Marcos Rojo. The 21-year-old has impressed Solskjaer this season and was named captain for United’s Carabao Cup tie against Rochdale in September. Solskjaer is in two minds whether to stick with the back three system that worked so effectively against Liverpool and is unsure if it’s necessary against weaker opposition. Tuanzebe has impressed Solskjaer (Picture: Getty) But he’ll likely be able to trial the formation with Tuanzebe against Norwich on Sunday as the Sun report the defender will be fit for the game.
Tuanzebe did not travel to Serbia today as United play Partizan Belgrade on Sunday but he’s expected to train alone as those who remained in Manchester prepare for Sunday. Paul Pogba has an outside chance of featuring against the Canaries, while David De Gea is expected to be reinstated after being left out of the Europa League squad. Jesse Lingard was part of the travelling group and could start.
