Nigeria have qualified for the final of the on-going CAF African Women's Championships in South Africa by defeating Cameroon's women 5-1 on Thursday.

A hat trick from Perpetua Nkwocha and a goal each from Helen Ukaonu and Ugochi Oparanozie ensured that the Nigerians ran away with an impressive victory over the ten-man Lionesses after Cathy Bou Djou was sent off for a second yellow card in the 27th minute. Cameroon's lone goal was scored by Jeanette Ngock.

Ukaonu opened scoring for the Nigerians on 34 minutes with a corner kick that sailed over the defence into the net. On the dot of halftime, youngster Oparanozie rose up to head home a cross from Stella Mbachu to make it 2-0 for the Falcons.

The Cameroonians, however, came back from the dugout with more determination and earned a goal from Ngock after a free kick into the box beat Precious Dede.

Nkwocha, top scorer so far with seven goals, rose to the occasion and began her hat trick with a goal in the 58th minute. Another volley in the 74th minute after the Cameroonian defence found itself at sixes and sevens took her day's tally up. She completed her hat trick in the 81st minute from the penalty spot after she had been brought down by the Cameroonian defence taking her total in four games to ten goals.

The Falcons who are five time champions await the winner of the second semi final tie between defending champions Equatorial Guinea and hosts South Africa later today. This victory also means that Nigeria have qualified to play at the FIFA women's world cup in 2011.
