Enforcing laws while the lives of the citizenry are not bettered! A man who lives a convenient life would hardly think about running afoul of the law. 6 Likes |

jidemoh: Many men and women who live "convenient life" often run afoul of the law. Take a look at the many wealthy Nigerian politicians, businessmen and government officials that have been jailed. Even an inspector general of police was convicted for breaking the law. 13 Likes 2 Shares |

They should also be arresting vehicles wrongly parked on the roads. There was a day in a street where two vehicles parked opposite each other and no other vehicle could pass between the two. Motorists we're screaming, looking for the useless owners to move their pangolo away. 11 Likes 2 Shares |

Not the kind of offences LASG is talking about. Common man offences that an average living person won't think about naptu2: |

jidemoh: There are two points here. 1) His statement is false and it is often used to excuse criminality. Here is what he wrote, "A man who lives a convenient life would hardly think about running afoul of the law." That is completely false. 2) This includes the offences that the Lagos State Government is referring to. A lot of the people who ignore traffic lights are people who are wealthy and powerful and who believe that they should be above the law because of that. Similarly, a lot of people who drive against the flow of traffic do so because they believe the law should not apply to them. Go to the Alexander Avenue Roundabout and see the number of people in expensive cars that take the wrong way round the roundabout simply because they believe that they are too big to drive to the proper junction. (I suspect that the points in the two paragraphs above are the reasons why it was announced that the attorney general of Lagos State will personally prosecute traffic offenders, so that they would not be able to use their wealth and influence to escape justice). Ģreed, pride and indiscipline are also factors that make people break the law. It's not only about whether they are living a "convenient life". 16 Likes 3 Shares |

Speaking further on the gridlock experienced in recent times, the Commissioner described the occurrence as man-made, stating that the enforcement team will ultimately ensure sanity on all roads across the State. If we must tell ourselves the truth, this right here is a bare faced lie. Lagos roads are awful right now and they are the number one cause of the gridlock. From Apongbon, to Ahmadu Bello way, to Eric Moore, Babs Animashaun, Ijora, ejigbo are all competing to outdo themselves on bad roads. Lagos is grinding to a halt with these bad spots that need critical urgent intervention as people are spending productive times in needless gridlock 3 Likes 1 Share |

kross01: Thanks. The greatest mystery is why the metropolis does not have a metro/light rail since 1984 when Buhari cancelled Jakande's project that was already under construction? How easy life would have been for all residents. Splashme: 1 Like |

naptu2: It seems that we rank a big man by the capacity to break the law and get away with it, hence the widespread impunity, lawlessness and corruption hailed by the suffering masses, if the person is their padi man. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Beosten: They should have called one of the numbers for the relevant agencies to tow away the vehicles and make the owners pay. One other aspect is the vehicles parked for long periods all over the place, which pose serious security risk as they can be used for bomb plantings by terrorists. 1 Like 1 Share |

Lagos is one big asylum. I don't think I have been to or lived in a city as lawless as that. Like no one in charge. I went to the beaches and you see piles of wastes with plastic bottles everywhere. Some were even buried until the water exposes them. 1 Like |
