It is expedient to explore the rationale behind the proliferation of pseudo ministers of the Gospel these days. Indeed, there should be reasons why these fake ministers of God are increasing daily.

On a daily basis, we often hear the atrocities these pseudo prophets commit. Some of them raped their Church members. While some of them charge their victims before praying for them.

More so, many of them now perform staged-miracles. They are quick to hit the social media with the videos of their unrealistic miracles. They do all sort of things that are ungodly in nature. Why?

Please, join me as I delve into this issue, using the Word of God to explain this phenomenon. The Bible never left us in the dark concerning this issue.

• We Are In The Last Days

When Jesus was asked by His disciples about the signs of the last days. He said proliferation of fake prophets is one of the signs.

Matthew 24:24
[24]For there shall arise false Christs, and FALSE PROPHETS, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Brethren, let’s be on the lookout for more fake Prophets and Pastors. Men who come in sheep clothing buy they are wolves inwardly.

As we experience aggrandizement of false prophets. Let’s be reminded that the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ is imminent. These are the signs that reveal the imminence of Christ’s coming.

Do not be too bothered about this because it’s one of the things you do not have control over. Your responsibility is not to visit or consult them. Fake ministers are increasing because we are in the last days.

Joblessness is one of the reasons behind the amplification of pseudo ministers of the Gospel.

Besides, some of these people opened their own so-called Church when they had no job to do. Many of them see ministry as a very easy thing to do.

So, they start their own ministries in order to make money. You will know a Church that is not of God by their love for money.

Truthfully, the Government is not helping the matter at all. Graduates have to lobby and do all sort of things before they are gainfully employed. This has led to the increase of fake pastors and prophets.

Ministry is by calling not by one’s ambition or love for it. If you have not been called, you have no reason to go into it. Do not allow poverty push you to start your own denomination.

Sadly, some ministers of the Gospel started well by upholding God’s Word and being diligent in God’s work.
But some of them veer off when they could not cope with poverty that accompanies truthfulness in ministry.

At times, when a man of God is factual and truthful, many people will hate him. And this will not make them serve him with their resources.

However, any true minister of God must say yes when the Word says yes. And say no when the Word says it.

Honestly, the love of money has made some men of God to introduce certain practices into their Church services.

Selling of anointed materials like handkerchiefs, fruits and water prove their love for sudden wealth.

Also, they come up with various titles of seed that their members should give to the Lord. You will hear seeds like; “Seed of long life,” “Seed of preservation,” Seed of healing,” etc.

Help me ask them if any of the Apostles or Jesus collected any seed like these when they preached.

In short, fake ministers are rampant because of the love of money. They are increasing daily because their belly is their god.

[7]And GREETINGS IN THE MARKETS, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.

Just like the Scribes and the Pharisees, some people want to be famous. Unarguably, men of God are naturally held in high esteem in most African countries.

So, they quickly start a Church without divine calling and they begin to run it. Quest for honour has driven some people into God’s Work. They want to be famous.

Nevertheless, this is why many of them would stage one miracle and post it on social media. They do this so that their Church can trend online.

It baffles me when I see a young ministers who have very small churches with few members. But they go around with bodyguards.

(I’m not saying having bodyguard as a pastor is totally wrong. I’d write on that soon).

But the issue is, must you always make yourself known to people? Are you a politician or a pastor?

Summarily, fake pastors are increasing daily because they desire to be honoured and famous.

[14]And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.
[15]And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

Interestingly, just like the seven sons of Sceva who wanted to imitate want they’ve not been empowered to do. There are some ministers who make their decision based on imitation.

See, they would copy everything that their friends in ministry are doing. Some of them were not taking seeds before but started taking it by imitation.

Dear friend, it is expedient for you to take decision in life and ministry based on your own conviction. Act on what God has told you to act on. Don’t build your own life on another person’s vision and conviction.

However, there are some false preachers who see everything that the American preachers do as nice and good. That’s why they copy their style of preaching, collection of seed and their message too.

Listen, build your life on the Word. Don’t let any ministry turn into a false minister by imitation.

2. Negative influences of the old prophets.
3. Ungodly alliance with other fake pastors.
4. Inability to wait patiently on the Lord.
5. When one has not actually encountered Christ.
6. Forgetting how one started. Thinking that as you grow in ministry, you fast and pray less.
7. Overdependence on other men.

*The watchers of the church fell asleep

*The thief came into the church and planted his own seeds inside.

*The seeds the thief sowed inside the church grew into thieves.

*The thieves sowed their own seeds inside the church.

*The seeds of the thieves grew into more thieves.

So the vicious circle continues until the watchers decide to wake up and say that enough is enough for the thieves inside the church.

And chase the thieves out of the church so that the church would stop being a den of thieves.

Nonsense. They have all always been fake.

The only reason it is more pronounced now is because there is now a pervasive use of the internet to keep records.

U think the early days of Nigerian Christianity and stories you heard about them are real? Don't make me laugh. They are all made up stories. Myths and legends created by their followers after.

If you examine their lives with great care you will discover that nothing is what it seems. Most of them struggled with lust, deceit, lies and fake miracles just like modern pastors do. But the tendency of memories of clergy men to be romanticised after their death is why we don't hear of their misdeeds today.

Because their god does not exist

There's only one reason - poverty.
