#ExploreKwaraSouth Blows Twitter As Senator Ashiru Sponsors 200 Youths, Researchers To Tourism Sites

Kwara State yesterday shone on Twitter as hangtag #ExploreKwaraSouth attracted thousands of tweets from people sharing their experience and updates about the tourism sites within Kwara South Senatorial District.

The idea was packaged by a tourist from Kwara South called *Ankara tours* in partnership with the senator representing the district, Senator Oyelola Ashiru to take people round the tourist attractions.

Senator Oyelola Ashiru ‪in his bid to project the senatorial district to the world through tourism therefore sponsored 200 people comprising youths, researchers and prospective private investors to explore tourist attractions including Esie National Museum and Owu falls

The excited tourists for over eight hours are moving from one-end to another. part of Southern Senatorial district to appreciate nature and beautiful atmosphere in places visited.

‪The #exploreKwaraSouth team first port of call was Esie museum, The Esie Museum which is the first museum in Nigeria, and the largest collection of soapstones images in the world. The youths that have not visited the museum before were marvelled to see images representing human beings. ‬

‪The team later moved to Owu Water Falls, one will appraise nature with the shrub, the aesthetics landscape, and the reception of the sun flowers while you trek from Owa Onire to the water fall. ‬

‪The ambience and the magnificent height is astounding, it is on record that the water fall is the highest in West Africa, with about 120metres height. ‪Tourists were marvel with the mystery of “the more noisy the place is, the more the water fall” but that is yet to be scientifically proven. ‬

Recall that Senator Ashiru during his visit to tourism sites last month
implored private investors to partner with government to develop the sites in Kwara South to promote culture and boost economy activities within the zone and Kwara state at large.

Although, the tourists could not touch Ero Omola Water Falls in Idofin Igbana and Imole BoJa Rock Shelter in Kajola (Oke-ero LGA) but they all agree that Kwara South would soon be destination for local and foreign tourists, if government and private investors develop the sites.

Senator Ashiru speaking through his Legislative Aide, Hon Benjamin Dairo Oyinloye called for collaboration among government at different levels and private investors.

“Kwara South tourist sites is not a unilateral task of any of the organ of government. It is an assignment that will need synergy from all the three tiers of government and today, a tourist minded organization is empowered by my office to lead specially constituted group of private interest of about 200 people to Owu Fall.

''The idea is simple; now that the state and the federal government is on the same page on how to develop tourist points in Kwara State, the critical beneficiary of this "efforts" would be the private sector and this is what informed the assemblage of today.'' He says.

No doubt #ExploreKwaraSouth would attract national and globe attention to the tourism sites domicile within the senatorial district. It's crystal clear that Senator Oyelola Ashiru has launched Kwara South to the world with this tour.
