The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization known as, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, is demanding for the immediate change of the country’s name, Nigeria, to a better and positive one.

The group said it has become important to the change “as the name, Nigeria, connotes lack of progress, corruption and darkness.”

The Social-Cultural deputy spokeman, Chuks Ibegbu, in s statement said, the name, “Nigeria, was given to us by a lover of Lord Lugard who later became his wife and was given at the heat of passion.”

Until The Country is restructured. Restructuring is less strenuous Amendment of the 1999 CONSTITUTION than a Change of Nigeria Name.

Biafra is fighting NIGERIA and not fighting some obscure and uncertain future names. We can't carelessly provide Escape route for Biafra now.
