BEEN A TEXT OF PRESS RELEASE BY THE SENATE PRESIDENT OF NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS'(NAUS)

Gentlemen Of the press

UNIMAID MANAGEMENT ENCOURAGE"
" BOKO HARAM"

It is saddened with pains, as son's and daughter's of poor Nigeria's, who's parents cannot earn one dollars for a day, when we receive the attack on education by the Increment Of School fees by Unimaid.

Office of the Senate President NAUS wish to use this medium to register our displeasure and total rejection of the Increment Of tuition fees by the management under the supervision of the Governing Council of the University, with claim to generate revenue for funding the University, as if education have become, a ONE CHANCE BUS" Naus reject it in whatsoever reason and as well Condemn it in totality and tagged it, as an "Attack On Education" and technically promoting the notion "BOKO HARAM"

Don't try to compare the fee of Unimaid and Unilag, Because Lagos State Economy is favourable while Borno State have been Crippled by fear of insurgency.

Knowing fully well that Unimaid is Federal institution but 70.% Students are children of the masses and indigene of Borno State, to get the record straight looking at the level of literacy in Borno State according to National literacy survey (2010) conducted by National Bureau of statistics(NBC) Show's that, out of 4,171,104 Population Of Borno State Have 603,497(14.5%) rate of literacy Compare to Nasarawa State which have population of 1,86,377, and the level of literacy rate is 782,734,( 41.9%)

Due to the increment and unnecessary charges, what do you expect next, the rate of illiteracy will increase, which will affect northern part of the country.

The Increment from #26,000 to #3,4900 for Engineering and MBBS from #32,000 to #115,000

Dear Sir, Majority of students are from Borno State, where Propaganda and doctrine of " BOKO HARAM" is Under A Serious Battle By Federal Government Which Has Not Be Won Up Till Now.

The Students of Unimaid cannot pay these Ungodly Fee's looking at the capital per income of their parents, they will be force indirectly to be recruited by the insurgency group because they are mostly Engineering, Psychology and medical students to mention this few.

Thousands of them have no, any other means than to drop out, and if, they drop out, ask yourself, sir, where will they go or what will they do for a living as someone who have knowledge and experience in engineering and medicine while insurgents are looking for potential like them to recruit and pay them in dollars.

The aims of those who are propagating" BOKO HARAM" will be achieve, if the students of Unimaid drop out in thousands.

Dear Sir, I Borrowed An Africa Proverb And Narrow it Down To this situation, When Rainfall Is Accompanied By Thunder, The Ground Doesn't Only Get Wet, Devastating Traces are left behind that could affect generation yet unborn

Sir, As An Africa son and it is not conventionally acceptable to explain such sayings to any one with African root's, as African child, I'm very sorry, if I hurt you with any of my words which is carefully selected to be use here.

As an African child you are not a stranger to the meaning by the crawling cock in the early hours of the morning. Remember.

Sir, base on all these submission from the national Secretariat of the Senate NAUS, we urged the Federal government, Governing Council, and management to revisit their decision by making school fees affordable to the children of the masses.

If,the Federal Government, Governing Council And Unimaid management fail to accept our appeal we don't have other option than to resort to NATION-WIDE PROTEST, to shut down Economy Activities In Nigeria.

We hope to receive your timely respond, before we consolidate our plan of actions.

Aluta Continue

Yours faithfully
