Coconut oil can help prevent breakage by
reducing protein loss. Proteins in the hair
structure give the hair its strength. So by using
coconut oil as a leave-in conditioner on the
outside of the strands, you can help the hair
maintain its natural strength.
To use coconut oil as a leave-in conditioner,
heat a ¼ teaspoon in your hands and apply it
to wet hair, avoiding the roots. If you have long
or thick hair, you may need to apply a little
more coconut oil. Be careful and avoid using
too much coconut oil as the hair can weigh
down, especially if it is thin or fine and it looks
greasy.
