The Kwara State House of Assembly, on Thursday, confirmed the appointment of 16 Commissioner-nominees. These nominees were presented to the House by the State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

The 16 Commissioner-nominees made appearances before the lawmakers with friends and well-wishers between Tuesday and Wednesday. The interesting part is that, among these 16 nominees, nine were female.

Danladi Yakubu-Salihu, Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, directed the Clerk of the House to intimate the State Governor on the confirmation of the nominees.

Meanwhile, Rafiu Ajakaye, the Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor, seemed pleased with the development. Being a witness to the screening of the nominees, Ajakaye expressed confidence in their abilities. He also said that having over 56% of them being women, was to give room for participatory Government in Kwara State.
