I commend the students for peaceful protest but stopping a bullion van should be avoided in other not to encourage trigger happy security agents from firing.

I rather commend the security attached to the CBN bullion van convoy for their calmness and restrain. Bullion Van should not be stopped under the guise of protest, Never!

Those students blocking roads should be arrested for sanity sake.
Shut up abeg...coward!!! they're doing something meaningful and this is the only way stubborn administrations get messages...they had complained bitterly for months nonstop and yet no action was taken..now they've been seen and you'll see how swift they'll fix the issue so as to not get such issues on Monday.. when dialogue fails, action works...

The bullion van was escorted by mobile policemen not soldiers. During this protest an old man been rushed to the hospital collapsed in the car and had to be rushed on someone's back from near ATL park through the school gate. A doctor that examined him stated his pulse was very weak I pray he makes it][/b]
PerfectJUSTICE:
I am very sure the Soldiers escorting the bullon van just received their salaries or else the headline for be "ARMY ESCORT OPEN FIRE ON PROTESTING UNIBEN STUDENTS. 2 KILLED, 30 INJURED!

People just come online to spread falsehood. If they knew about the uniben vs Bob izua issue that lasted two full days (mopol used live bullets at main gate)or the obe razaq aluta that lasted almost 24 hours

I am 100% sure you are neither a UNIBEN student not her aluminus. Hence, you know nothing. because UNIBEN is in Edo, it makes the protesting students Edo student?

It's all very well, but at the end of the day, the problem is, budget of 300billion naira isn't enough for education.

We need something in the region of 5 trillion naira (my estimate) annually before we can see decent working universities.

Unless you want Bubu to go and take a loan from IMF for universities alone

5 Trillion nairas, where do you want Bubu to see the money

[quote author=johnmattew post=83661046]Edo students always get mind..unlike lagos[/quote we have more non indigen attending that school than people from Benin...Delta and the West precisely have more students than the Edos .They make up 52% of the entire population of the school.

So the students should study without adequate light and power, eh?

Okay

UNIBEN has surrounding walls, why not confine the protest within those walls?

People were trapped in the holdup btw 6am-2pm. because of this protest, Doctors were trapped in this hold up, meaning medical emergencies and other patients suffered, what about those rushing loved ones to the hospital, a pregnant woman whoose water has broken or an accident victim being trapped??
