Please how can you unite Africa when you can't even unite the people in the "geographical expression" called Nigeria?

Our people keep looking for whom to blame. Why would they use our port when we don't have a motorable road, government should first fix the needed infrastructures, create an enabling environment then leave the rest to God and see what happens. Ututu oma nuo.

Is it our interest to crush another west African country economically?
We should be very careful.

It Is the unmitigated greed of the Nigerian government that makes people resort to Benin republic for their goods import as its far more cheaper and easier to clear goods from their ports than the mess we have here as port charges that's why people import and want to smuggle their goods down here.
Why not reduce the astronomical clearing charges down here and make it more attractive for people to bring in their goods easily instead of resorting to Benin and smuggling goods in. That is a far easier solution but the dunderheads in government cannot reason that way. Killing mosquitoes with sledge hammer is all they do best.

the border to Chad and Niger republic are partially controlled by boko haram. The Nigerian customs won't even dare step foot there, even the army there have been forced to abandon their barracks to seek shelter in super barracks. Don't deceive anybody with this your lie that the border closure is affecting Boko haram. .
How people can be so deluded to lie to others and even lie to themselves is mind-boggling to say the least! Just because of a few rotten coins, these zonbies are willing to mortgage their futures and that of their unborn kids!
My brother, we are in trouble o! Abeg, my brother, keep educating them o

There's a way our business community reports news that is not altogether accurate. We condition ourselves to think we deserve to get business opportunities because we are Nigeria or because we built the "Biggest" (Insert whatever), not minding the ease of doing business. If Benin Rep is getting XYZ number of cargo, it doesn't translate to we are losing business, we never had it in the first place! It's not a zero sum game either, they have a share, we must fight for a share too. You build a dry inland port, then stupidly close the border (just one of the random things..) and expect them to choose patriotism over profits? That sort of dumb argument flies in Nigeria, not in the real world.

How?

Instead of telling them the truth we resort to sycophancy and praise singing them for doing nothing.

It is quite pathetic

Why Igbo people dominate the business and imports in Nigeria is because of the high risk,
not everyone will do business with/in Nigeria like that.

All of you are just promoting your nomadic intelligence using it for national discourse. The ICNL man has to support such thinking since it is a boost in his domain. Comparing haulage distance between two locations without considering impediment is nomadic intelligence. Inland Containers shipment from Sea Ports to Dry docks is at a cost which Nigerian government will bear most part of it indirectly. The Niger used Benin port for some of their goods because of Police and Customs harassments and extortion in Nigeria.

I congratulate the Nigerian Arewa brothers at Niger for the ports. Your goods would be moved to Kano and Kaduna Ports at cheaper cost subsidized by Nigerian government controlled by your Arewa people.

You totally stopped dia own products from coming to your country but you want dem to patronize your dry port...thats totally absurd...its a give n take thing....

And moreover,Boko haram is controlling most of that region so if you like, let it be 500m from Niger to f dry port, they will still prefer Benin cz its cheaper and safer

This is one of the reasons Ghana is feeling the Nigerian border closure more than our neighboring countries, Benin republic won't feel that much because of other Francophone around them and the ties they have with them.
Ghana is Anglophone and Nigeria is their biggest business partner in Africa.

Niger Republic will easily do Business with Benin Republic than Nigeria because of the Language

Defending nonviable dry ports at all cost. Let the coastal states host the ports naturally, and not just Lagos state. Lets put square pegs in square holes, we will all be better for it. For unhealthy political reasons, refineries will be sited far away from crude oil producing areas. SMH.
