They said we are the poverty capital of the world. Our President decided that we should just close our poverty stricken borders to the outside world so that we can manage on our own. Suddenly, scarcity hits Benin republic. Demonstration hits Ghana. Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines envoys all came calling. Their economy depends on our poverty. They are begging the most corrupt nation on Earth to do business with them. They have no buyers for their commodity. In our neighbors domain, scarcity have hit them hard.
Meanwhile at home we are coping just fine. Our markets have not been hit by scarcity. It turned out they need us more than we need them. We have all it takes to stand alone as a nation. All we need is a plan and a willing leader.

Hmmm...i agree with this but why not empower local producers to do more first shutting the borders. We as Nigeria must reclaim our place in Africa and indeed the world as the heavyweights we once were.

There comes a time when you have to remain stubborn and resolute, even in diplomacy. This is for the good of our economy. Border closure does not mean there are no more goods coming into the country. Far from it!
The government has only shut all the illegal points of entry so that we can collect the revenue we are supposed to collect on all these goods when they enter through the official ports and points of entry.
Any person or group of persons who are against this rightful policy is an enemy of progress, truth be told. With all the infrastructure that need to be put in place, how can you be against the government getting more legal revenue coming into the national purse? Tell them to face the reality.

Nigeria is a giant country that every other countries need to depend on so the closure of border is for our own good and soon we will praise Buhari/Osinbajo for this development

When it is said that we are no longer the giant of Africa this border closure is a glaring example of how we lost that mantle. A country with our population and geographical location should be able to throw its weight around and see results and with the envoys from Vietnam and Malaysia thronging over and the unrest in our neighbouring countries, we can tell that finally, here is a policy that is Nigeria centric above all else.

Local producers are being empowered. Big players and medium, small enterprises are being supported with different schemes. The thing is that these merchants are not on social media so you may never know. CBN, BOI and DBN are doing their duties.

Hear the words of business mogul Comas Maduka of Coscharis
"There are policies that have been put in place by the government today that are working. The government has supported out-growers and has provided funds for serious investors like us. We have accessed about N6 billion loan from the Central Bank at single-digit of nine per cent."

Nigeria is a capitalist economy ...
Buhari like most Nigerians prefer to treat symptoms than root cause of the problem

Beating ur child for going to watch TV in your neighbors house I stead of listen to the radio u have at home won't make him/her love radio more than TV .....the only solution would be u buy your own TV
