NUC ACCREDITATION TEAMS COMMEND AE-FUNAI FOR CONFORMING TO BENCHMARK STANDARD
Some of the National Universities Commission accreditation teams for 12 programmes in Alex – Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu Alike, Ebonyi State, who were in the University for the Exercise from Monday 28th October, 2019, commended AE-FUNAI for conforming to the regulations and guidelines of NUC especially in the curriculum, philosophy, objectives and staffing.

Business Education team Chairperson, Prof. Enoidem Usoro appreciated the Dean, Faculty of Education Prof. Rosemary Igbo and the HOD for their hospitality and for personally taking them round the faculty. Prof. Enoidem said that the journals in the faculty and department library were up to date and that the standard of tests and examination questions, as well as the grading/marking guide were commendable. She also said that the department facilities in terms of computer laboratory was up to date adding however that more computer systems and funding be made available to the department.

Fisheries and Aquaculture Team Chairman, Prof. Annune Pau Aunde said that the philosophy and objectives of the programme fall within NUC regulations and that the curriculum is adequate, adding that the admission requirement and academic regulations were good. He commended the department for the quality and quantity of relevant textbooks in there, as well as the E-library and said that staff-student ratio was adequate. He encouraged the department to sustain the standard and possibly keep improving on all aspects to achieve excellence.

Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba, welcomed the Agri-Business and Agriculture teams to AE-FUNAI and said he was glad to see them adding that he was committed to the process of the accreditation exercise and the regulations of NUC. Speaking further, he said AE-FUNAI would cooperate with the teams because he believed in what they came to do and wished them a fruitful stay in the University.

Agri-Business team Chairman, Prof. James Olukosi, and Agriculture team Chairman Prof. Ayoade John Adisa respectively thanked the management for hosting them and gave kudos to the department for their effectiveness. They further commended the students for understanding the purpose and objectives of the programme and recommended that adjustment be made where necessary.

Chairman for Science Education team, Prof. Abubakar Sadiq Bappa said that classrooms were well spaced and staff and students were satisfied with the course content.

He sympathized with AE-FUNAI over the unfortunate incident of rainstorm that destroyed the University Library and appreciated the efforts made to improvise. He further said that the E-Library portal was very okay and highly commendable and encouraged the University to keep improving on what they have on ground, in view of their strive to transform to world class .

Vice-chancellor, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba appreciated the team for sympathizing with the University over the collapsed Library building, saying that TETFUND had approved two new buildings in the faculty of Education and that a review of course content would be done in earnest and given to the senate for approval. VC, accepted the report, pointing out that the report served the purpose of strengthening the University and that he would address short comings, where necessary.
