Nwakali and awoniyi that received the best player and the golden boot awards during their time at the u_17 are still struggling. While unknown chukwueze that time is dominating laliga, played in afcon and even got nominated in junior balon d'or award. Inside life.

I guess the gold boot went to Victor Usihem and best sportsmanship award went to Nwakali. However there was a confusion as Kelechi Nwakali also received the bronze boot award meant for Samuel Chukwueze. FIFA later corrected the confusion and sent another trophy to Samuel Chukwueze who was the youngest player at the tournament. Iheanacho did not play with Kelechi Nwakali but the elder brother of Kelechi named Chidiebere Nwakali.

To be frank, it would be a good thing if we do not qualify for the Olympics football tourney.

Youth football in Nigeria is badly organised. The truth is, we don't have enough good coaches, enough good facilites, and so on.

Yes we won 1996 olympics,....with a squad that was partly built up with structures via YSFON....which today don't exist. And in 2008....we used foreign based players to shine to a silver.

If we want to start really doing well....we have to spend more on youth development. And we can't get anything from a budget of N300billion and below..plus a badly run NFF.

we have good players to used if eventually we quality for this tournament. The likes of oshimen, uzoho, chukwueze, Joel aribo, okoye are still withing U-23 age bracket
