From a recent interview with representatives of the Bavarian brand, it became clear that in the near future, sales of the BMW 3 Series station wagon in the powerful diesel version of the M340d will begin in Europe. No pricing data yet.

The foreign edition of BMWBLOG, which, as the name implies, furiously follows the fate of the Bavarian brand, reports that at the beginning of 2020, the BMW 3 Series station wagon in the performance of the M340d xDrive will be available to customers. This version will be a diesel alternative to the gasoline M340i pictured here.

Most likely, the novelty will receive a diesel inline six-cylinder unit with a volume of 3.0 liters. It is expected that the engine borrowed from the X3 M40d / X4 M40d crossovers will have the same 321 hp. and a huge torque of 680 Nm.

BMW will allegedly sell the 3 Series Touring M340d exclusively with xDrive all-wheel drive. There are no details about the dynamic characteristics of the new product, but given that the X3 crossover in the M40d version (with the same engine) can accelerate in 4.9 seconds to a speed of 100 km / h, the M340d xDrive Touring wagon will need 4 to overcome the same path. 8 seconds considering the fact that such a car weighs less. If the engine is “transferred” unchanged, this means that the full torque will be applied at 1750 rpm.

BMWBLOG reports that the most powerful version of the BMW 3 Series station wagon will go on sale in Europe next March, so we can expect a car presentation at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show. The novelty will probably cost more than the gasoline version of the M340i, which is sold in Germany at a minimum price of 63,250 euros.

BMW showcases M2 CS Racing as affordable race car

The German brand BMW has recently focused on providing low-cost methods of entering the world of motorsport.

BMW uses its own experience in the development of road cars to make the racing variation of the M2 CS a winning car.

The cost of M2 CS Racing starts from 95 thousand euros (about 6.7 million rubles). He leaves the assembly line already ready to take part in racing races at any level.

This model has an in-line 6-cylinder 2.9 liter turbocharged S55 engine with a capacity of 280 to 365 hp. depending on the Balance of Performance classification for racing. The engine works in conjunction with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

Transmission from the road version of the M2 CS, while BMW Motorsport specialists created software to improve its performance. The standard equipment includes ABS and DSC cars, however, for sure, motorists will turn them off, considering it unnecessary.
