The Nigeria equity market on Tuesday, resumed the new week gaining 0.54%, extending last Fridays positive sentiment. Consequently, the market breadth closed positive, recording 18 gainers and 11 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 141.90 absolute points, representing a growth of 0.54% to close at 26,456.39 points. Similarly, the Market Capitalization gained N69.08 billion representing an increase of 0.54%, to close at N12.88 trillion.

CCNN emerged the top gainer, while IKEJAHOTEL emerged as top loser.

The uptrend was impacted by gains recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; CCNN (+9.14%), WEMABANK (+6.78%), UACN (+4.84%), UBA (+4.55%), HONEYFLOUR (+4.08%), ACCESS (+3.80%), NB (+1.51%), ZENITHBANK (+1.46%), DANGCEM (+0.96%), GUARANTY (+0.35%), STANBIC (+0.27%) and MTNN (+0.04%).

FOREIGN EXCHANGE

The Naira at the official remains unchanged to close at N306.90/$1 as against last Friday’s position.

The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N362.45, traded high at N363.45 and eventually closed at N362.50, representing 0.07% appreciation against last Friday’s position. A total of $163.06 million was transacted through the I&E window today.

MONEY MARKET

Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 5.79%, representing a 0.21% appreciation against last Friday’s position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 5.14%, representing a 0.71% appreciation against last Friday’s position.

NASD OTC MARKET

The NASD OTC market remained flat, as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) closed at 701.76 points. Similarly, the Market Capitalization closed at N504.17 billion as against last Friday’s position. However, the aggregate volume and value declined by 99.80%, and 97.54% respectively, as investors traded a total of 50,510 units of shares valued at N633,490 in 5 deals.
