What You Should Know When Sharing Your Apartment In Lagos by sherutaNG(m): 12:54am On Nov 14, 2019
Flat-sharing is becoming a huge consideration for many people, especially for the Millenials, which is normal
(i mean just imagine starting life with all these big problems on just one head). The existence of AIRBNB
proves that people share apartments for different reasons. In Lagos, one major reason is finding a person(s)
who you can split the high rent charges and wahala bills related to living in the city.

It is easier to rent a place with a friend or family, yeah we know! way easier, but most times situations don't go as planned.
So the question is, what are the factors to put into consideration when sharing your apartment for a longterm. Below are some
points to consider when sharing your home

Financial status: you need to know if a sub renter is capable of paying rent continuously and consistently. A good first step
will be to check his/her financial standing, ask question's concerning employment status and monthly income by requesting for
document's indicating statement of bank account.

Employment Status: Whether a renter is self-employed or on a white-collar job, the important point to note is the steadiness
of his or her income to prevent a case story that touches.

Relationship status: The idea of a shared apartment is more suitable for singles and nonmarried renters (in my opinion) even
though married couples living in a shared apartment are not completely unheard of, it just less complicated with singles.

Available guarantor: There has to be some form of family trace and backing for security and also in the case of an emergency

Past flatmate relationship: Ask questions about their relationship with past flatmates (if any). His or her response will help
determine their ability to share a home in a long term.

OCD LEVEL: Renters who have high OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) are more suitable for self cons and mini flats.

Possible common interest: Having flatmates with common or similar interests just makes everything easier for both parties.
Imagine being a fan of the same club or sharing love for fashion. science has proven that people tend to click faster when they have
common goals or interests, you get to know this by interacting. Personality check.
