- An association of petroleum marketers in Nigeria have commended the federal government over the closure of borders across the country
- The association hailed the termination of fuel supply to petrol stations in the border areas - According to IPMAN, the federal government should implore possible measures of addressing the issue amicably, especially with regards to the high number of Nigerians who have invested in the sector Following the closure of border across the country by the federal government, the Independent petroleum marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has hailed the termination of fuel supply to petrol stations in the areas.

Reacting to the recent outcry over the border closure and the stoppage of fuel supply in the border, the IPMAN chairman of north west region, Bashir Danmalam, said the decision taken by the federal government is a wise one. Danmalam while speaking with journalists in Kano state said the border closure is aimed at uplifting the well being of the general populace. FG indefinitely suspends building, operation of filling stations near borders He also appealed to the federal government to implore possible measures of addressing the issue amicably, especially with regards to the high number of Nigerians who have invested in the sector. Danmalam assured the people of Kano state and the nation as a whole that the federal government was collaborating with IPMAN in ensuring that the nation did not record any form of fuel scarcity. He urged the general public to always respect the rule of law for the development of the Nation. Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II had thrown his weight behind the closure of Nigerians borders by the federal government. The emir said the border closure will help in growing Nigeria's economy with regards to agricultural production especially local rice.
