They must/could be touts. Only if people could go to polling units, cast their votes peacefully and stand aside
they are not touts....we were there.
Those tugs in fake security uniforms came to snatch ballot boxes.... Those two killed are two of those who tried resisting them.....They've been buried this evening in a cemetery close by.

Ballot box method is outdated, Nigeria needs to stop it.

I think PMB should be held responsible for any loss of life and property, or chaos experienced in these elections.

There's a bill permitting electronic voting which is on his table, just for him to append his signature to make it a law, its taking time.

Sometimes one wonders if PMB gets a hard on seeing this nation in chaos.

The bill permitting electronic voting when signed, will put an end to ballot box snatching and associated violence during elections, even the military have said they will stop participating in elections when the bill is signed into law as obviously there won't be need for them.

Though it will come with its own challenges but the merits far outweighs the demerits.

Even recently, a bill was taken to him to sign in London, why is the bill permitting electronic voting not yet signed?

What's delaying it, he has won his election so let him append his signature on that bill for this nation to move forward.

Untill our electoral processes reflects the genuine will of the people, our democracy remains a sham.

I think this is very good because all over the world Nigeria will only vote for a criminal Nigerians are ready to die because of a Nigerian criminal which can do nothing for them. In the UK America South Africa and Europe it is the same thing with Nigerians they will go and vote for a Nigerian criminal which can do nothing for them even they are ready to be killed for that criminal which will do nothing for them

Nigeria police should try hard to be using rubber bullets on people, because there can't create human being.there should learn from South Africa on how the police there use rubber bullets on their citizen.

ALL.

If you could comprehend, you would have seen where I stated that it has its associated challenges, and who said we cannot improve.

Prior to 1999, there was nothing like GSM, not to talk of smart phone and data, but today look at how far we have gone.

Please be progressive in mind to grow.

It pays to be quiet until all the facts are in.

Some posters here are saying these two young men resisted attempts by thugs to seize the ballot boxes in their polling units - and paid with their lives for doing so. sad

If it is indeed true that these were ordinary voters just trying to protect their votes then the critics need to revise their comments. If these boys were not thugs but ordinary Nigerians insisting on having their electoral choices respected - then these boys are the real patriots.

Anyone on the ground with eyewitness accounts should provide a full update on what exactly happened.

I'm just tired of the height of gullibility some folks display on this forum.

The same set of people who advised the masses (kogites) to defend their votes and ensure it counted inspite of all forms of intimidation are now the ones bashing these young men for doing so. Whether one was at the scene or not, it easy to tell that those boys couldn't have been touts or armed with dangerous weapons otherwise the story would have been different from what we've heard.

We know it doesn't make sense to die for anyone or in a situation like this but rather than calling those boys fools or touts, it would be more rational to condemn the evil act that was perpetrated by Bello and his thugs.

Las las all of us go surely die, na the date we never know.

RIP to the dead. You died trying to protect your right from being abused. When next you are reborn, I pray you are born to saner climes where much value is attached to human life.
