Oshiomhole Must Recognise Obaseki As The Current Champion Of Edo State-Ohonbamu by hisexcellency34: 8:48pm On Nov 16, 2019
Paul Ohonbamu, Edo State Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, has said Governor Godwin Obaseki’s efforts to liberate himself from the yoke of godfatherism of his predecessor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, is what is responsible for the political crisis in the state.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Daily Independent, Ohonbamu also said that despite leaving office as governor, Oshiomhole who is the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) still want to continue the dominance of the political affairs of the state like he did when he was governor of the state for eight years.

He advised Oshiomhole to accept the fact that Obaseki, by virtue of his position as the governor of the state is the current champion of the state, adding that another current champion will emerge after he must have completed his second term in office.

“First and foremost, the governor has been a man who has been on a path of positive trajectory. There are political undertones to what is happening.”

The national chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomhole has a dominating posture when he was governor of Edo state. He was a colossus and all other men merely peeped under his huge feet to find themselves dishonourable graves.

“Oshiomhole was a governor maximally. But nowhere is a new governor in Edo that Oshiomhole does not want. Despite leaving office as governor and Governor Obaseki in charge as the number one citizen of Edo, Oshiomhole wants that dominance to continue.

Oshiomhole must realise that he is no longer the governor and there is no way you can have the best of two worlds.

There is nowhere in the world that we have a permanent champion. What exists in the world is the current champion and Obaseki by virtue of his position is the current champion in Edo.

“Five years from now which will be the terminus of his second term, another governor will emerge in Edo who will be the current champion. This is something Oshiomhole has failed to realise and it is the tendency of Obaseki to liberate himself that is the problem now,” he said

until obaseki wins primary and gets relelected,he shouldn't boast o..because that short man Adams cannot be underrated

1.Adams will try to stop obaseki from winning primary

2 if that fails ,he will work against him and support the opposition

if you think that is not possible, check bayelsa

all hands must be in deck if obaseki wants to win 2020.

My fear for obaseki is that; majority of his backers don't have control over their local politics. This is the koko when it comes to delegate primaries.
