In the body we see a distribution of functions, each part is structured and designed to carry out certain function. The relationship between unique structural design and precise, purposeful function is evident within all levels of organization in the human body (Gillen, Sherwin, and Knowles 2001; Kaufmann 1995). At the tissue level, the design of each type of epithelium is perfectly suited for its particular function (Gillen, Sherwin, and Knowles 2001).

The Ecclesia as the body of Christ has various parts, and each part is designed according to its function. This means that as you grow into maturity in Christ you are growing into that design that is to express a specific function in the body. You may not know your function at your infant stage because you have not come into that design yet, and it is not necessarily you know it all, although God may reveal it to you. But as you focus on Christ, focus on growing in him, you will find yourself growing into that function or rather the design of that function.

You cannot truly fulfill that function or what people call God’s purpose for your life while you are still immature in Christ. In order to be able to fulfill it you must develop all the faculties required, and it is in growing into Christ (for it is his body) that you develop the faculties and become capable of carrying out this function.

I see many Christians trying to discover and fulfill God’s purpose for their lives without coming into maturity. It is like a male child trying to pregnant a lady and have offspring at that immature age. It is not possible, we are only deceiving ourselves, if you try too hard you will end up making a doll and calling it your offspring. Yes, that is what is happening among Christians today, they carry this fake thing which they made by their own hands and they call it God’s purpose for their life.

They go about with their toy, claiming they are fulfilling a divine mandate. Maturity is very important, and yes it requires a lot of patient and time, it can be a very difficult process but it cannot be avoided if we are to live real the Christian life. Most of what is out there is fake, this is why the body of Christ suffers today, we have all these Christians refusing to grow, going about with their toys, and as such the various part of the body are not fully design to carry out their function.

When the various parts are not carrying out their functions the whole body suffers, in fact it collapse and become this ugly things. Nobody would know what a lion truly is till they see a healthy functioning lion. But when all they see is an unhealthy lion whose body parts are not functioning well, they may fall into the assumption and conclusion that lion is a very ugly and awkwardly strange thing.

Yes, the body of Christ today looks ugly and awkwardly strange because Christians are not maturing and carrying out their functions. When we begin to focus on coming into maturity then we would have a beautiful and well function body, and the whole world would be able to see how glorious the bride of Christ is. They would see the wisdom in her structure, the beauty in her stature and the power her faculties commands, they would be in awe of the wonder of this amazing woman.

Each part is design precisely for its specific functions, hence there are numerous parts and diverse functions. But the beauty of it all is that no matter how numerous and diverse the parts and their functions are, they are all interdependent on each other, relying and working with each other as one. This interdependent is a very important theme that characterizes the human body systems. Related to this principle is the concept of irreducible complexity, introduced by Behe (1996). An irreducibly complex system is composed of several interacting parts that must be present for it to function properly. If any one of these parts is removed, the system ceases to function (Behe 1996). In irreducibly complex systems, each individual part does not have a function without the other parts. A non-functional part by itself would not give the organism a survival advantage (Behe 1996).
Irreducible complexity is an “all-or-nothing unity” possessed by all systems of the body, from the molecular to organism levels (Guliuzza 2009). One of the greatest examples is the design of the eye, which requires the precise action of muscles and several eye parts (including the cornea, pupil, lens, and retina), along with the data-processing capability of the brain, to function interdependently for clear vision (Bergman 2008a, 2011a; Stoltzmann 2006). The functioning of each part is very significant, for the system is as good as dead without the precise action of each part. So if we have a part that is not carrying out its function accurately then the whole body is badly affected. Sadly in the body of Christ today there are just so many who do not know their function much less carrying it out precisely.
There are those who are carrying out some kind of function but not in the way it ought to be. When one part is carrying out its function in an improper way it affects the rest like a domino effect. It becomes a chain reaction, because the other part that is dependent on the functioning of that part will carry out their function based on that poorly articulated function of the previous part. And as this continues it alters the whole body, turning it into something that it is not. There are some functions in the body of Christ today that have been totally eliminated because some other parts are improperly carrying out their functions. The elimination of these functions have affected the motivation, essence and necessity for maturity of the part designed to carry out those function.
When the function of your design has been eliminated in the body you would not feel the need to grow into that design—into the fullness of who you are in Christ. The structure of your design have become useless in the body; the fullness you are supposed to grow into is no longer needed because the body has been altered. This is the situation of the body of Christ today, this is why many are condemned to babyhood. When the structure of the design of the fullness of a part is condemned, the part is then abandoned to the secular life. There should be nothing like a secular life to the Christians, a Christian is one born of the Spirit as such he is spirit.

"That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." (John 3:6).

The Christian should be utterly spiritual, for his life (Christ) is spiritual. So there is no demarcation such as the spiritual life and the secular life of a Christian. The Christian has only one life and it is spiritual, but when this spiritual life cannot find expression the person is then given to a secular life. Please do not misinterpret my words, I am not saying every Christian should be a pastor. I am saying there are diverse and unique functions in the body of Christ, but the lack of proper functionality of some part has eliminated certain of these unique functions, therefore leading the part that are meant to play this function become condemned, dead to an aspect their spiritual life, leaving a void, a vacation space that is then filled with the secular life.
I know that I would still be misunderstood by those who cannot see that a secular can become spiritual when transformed by the reconciliation ministry of the Christian life (2Cor 5:19). It is still the same thing you are doing, but now it has become spiritual, for it has being handled by the hands of a spiritual man.
