Jonah okah wins governor Dickson in court
The National Industrial Court sitting in Yenagoa today nullified the dismissal of Mr Jonah Okah from the service of Bayelsa state Civil service.
The claimant , Mr Jonah Okah who until now a State Counsel in the Directorate of Public Prosecutions at the Bayelsa state Ministry of Justice instituted the action against the Bayelsa state government over three years ago has been reinstated in a judgement delivered by Hon Justice B. A. Alkali .
The judgrment which lasted for over an hour presided over by Hon Justice Alkali described the process leading to the dismissal of the claimant as a "charade, wrongful" and directed the Bayelsa state government to effect reinstatement of of the claimant within 30 days and accordingly pay him all his salary arrears and entitlements.
Speaking to reporters shortly after the court session , Mr Jonah Okah who is also a Journalist described the judgement as "landmark" . According to Mr Okah , he has no bitterness against anyone , stating that there's time for every thing in life and certainly by means of strength shall no man prevail.
Mr Jonah Okah who until now was a strong critic of the government of governor Seriake Dickson and have been having a running battle with the government leading to his arrest and detention over alleged defamatory publication against the state government .
Mr Jonah Okah who was the Speechwriter to the current Minister of State for Petroleum and leader of the All Progressive Congress in Bayelsa state , Chief Timipre Sylva while he was governor of Bayelsa state was widely believed to have suffered persecution in the hands of the state government due to his association with the APC leader and his fierce criticisms against the government of Seriake Dickson and his frequent writeups in conventional media as well as social media in defence of Chief Timipre Sylva.
Investigation shows that several persons employed during the administration of Chief Timipre Sylva were dismissed out of impunity which made the administration of governor Seriake Dickson unpopular which resulted in protest votes across the state against candidate of the PDP.
