At the late hours of Wednesday in Ungwar Dan Mani, Igabi Local Government of Kaduna State, Kidnappers struck, taking not less than 5 people. A nursing mother was part of those abducted in the process.

A resident of the area, when approached (Name withheld) had confirmed that the whole community is till in shock after it happened. He said the kidnappers trooped in and started shooting sporadically in the air, entering from house to house in the night and abducting their victims.

He added that the kidnappers called his wife earlier today and other persons in the community to ask for a ransom of 10 million Naira .

He said "we are now in confusion because those abducted were four males and two women. Among the women was a nursing mother, Matar Ghali. They took her away while the Husband escaped. Gambo and Bukar are among those abducted. These are all poor people and so far we have identified six people that were abdcuted"
