It has come to my notice that a anti social media bill/hate speech bill is currently be deliberated by the national assembly and has scaled through the second reading on its way to be implemented into law. with a sad heart I want to draw the attention OF ALL NIGERIANS to the dangers of how this babaric bill will affect every body

THE OPPOSITION AND INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM WOULD BE FINALLY BURIED:u see the opposition is necessary for a govt to operate because they act as a checkmate remember in every rumour there must be an evidence of truth.if the opposition is totally shut down the excesses of the govt in powers can't be checked and they will misuse their powers and silent the opposition without anyone raising the alarm.if only Nigerians knew the various documented shortcomings and corrupt practices pepetruated by this current administration then they will understand the important of investigative journalism and a vibrant opposition.

THE MASSES WILL FEEL THE HEAT:apart from the politicians the poor and average masses would feel the effect of this bill in the most extreme way e.g victims of the oppressed can no longer speak up because their rich or influencial oppressors can quickly deny,arrest them and charge them for HATE SPEECH, e.g u complain of mistreatment from your landlord over his actions, u can get arrested and charged for hate speech, u protest about government shortcomings u get charged for hate speech, u are a female student at a tetiary institution and a lecturer makes sexual advances on u or sexually harass u u complain u can be charged for hate speech, ur creditor gave u loan and u are trying to pay back along the lines u had a disagreement u can be charged for hate speech, u complain about police, army, etc bruatlity they can quickly deny the allegations and charge u for hate speech...... In fact the hate speech bill would be used in full effect by the rich,corrupt security agencies, lecturers, politicians and influencial people in totally shutting down the VOICED OF THE VICITIMIZED AND OPPRESSED IN NIGERIA
