In 2015, UNICEF reported that in Nigeria, one in four girls (and one in ten boys) had experienced sexual violence before the age of eighteen. A survey by Positive Action for Treatment Access reported that 31.4% of girls acknowledged that their first sexual experience was rape or forced sex of some kind. In Nigeria's law however, child sexual abuse is an offence under several Sections of Chapter 21 of the Criminal Code.

ABUSED is a rap song that addresses this recent increase in reports of child sexual abuse in our society. We are hopeful that this piece would contribute to the positive change we all desire in our country.
