New Act Will Decongest Nigeria’s Correctional Centres – Malami by zakim(m): 8:30am On Nov 26, 2019
The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has expressed confidence that the newly signed Correction Service Act will decongest the country’s correctional/custodial centres. Malami said this at the opening of a three-day workshop on the effective implementation of the Nigerian Correctional Service Act, 2019.

He recalled that the signing into law of the Act followed President Muhammadu Buhari’s alarm over the deplorable state of prisons nationwide, and about 90% over-crowding inside the facilities.
