Biofil Toilet Digester is an innovative on-site waste water treatment option that offers integrated treatment of sewage in a manner that poses minimal risk to the environment and public health, and the opportunity of sustainable economic returns on natural biological treatment of waste in the long term.

It operates on very low maintenance requirement. It is suitable for all soil conditions including heavy clay soils, shallow or exposed roc k beds and soils with high water table.

It may be installed above ground or buried depending on groundwater condition.

HOW IT WORKS
It is a technology that works by providing an enclosed environment for natural process of aerobic decomposition of feces including toilet paper and degradable materials. The digester is constructed as a living filter where oxygen inflow into the vault allows the seeds (bacteria, fungi, macro-organisms) within to degrade solids at the top layer aerobically and liquid are filter into the lower layers before being directed out of digester through a pipe into constructed drain field or collected and treated for reuse. The digester operates via a process called [RAB]

• Mosquitoes tend to breed in pits.

• Toilets smell bad when water washes into pit during raining periods or when clean water washes into pit. It is always a problem in cultures where water for anal cleaning is the norm.
• Pit will eventually fill with fecal sludge for above a year for full decomposition of waste before contents are dug out for reuse of pit. Two pits are always provided for each seat to allow for continuous use.

• The sludge requires treatment prior to reuse or disposal.
