Jackson Adewale Ayika has emerged as the 2019/2020 IBILE Youth, Ikorodu Divisional Ambassador.

He emerged this feat after coming out as the overall best in the Ibile Youth Academy Leadership training, which is an initiative of the Lagos State Government Ministry of Youth and Social Development.

The leadership initiative is projected and aimed at inculcating in the Youth, the virtue of Citizenship, Leadership, and Voluntarism for the development of themselves, their society, Lagos State and by extension Nigeria at large.

The Leadership training was carried out in two phases, the first phase is a 5-day training of over 100 youths at the youth centres across the five division in Lagos State, after which, 50 participants were selected from the 5 division to compete at the State level.

After the state competition, 11 youths were selected amongst the 50 participants to become Ambassadors; 1 State Youth Ambassador, 5 Divisional Youth Ambassador and 5 Deputy Divisional Youth Ambassador from Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos and Epe, which Jackson and Alonge Layoladedayo Tẹmilade emerged as the Divisional and Deputy Divisional Ambassador respectively.

The duty of these selected ambassadors are to represent the Youth on Social Development, serve as Team Lead and work effectively to ensure outstanding performance of the youthful potentials in other to utilize them for assets at the State level and across their respective divisions.

Jackson noted that the Lagos State Government through the Ministry of Youth and Social Development has immensely invested in them, therefore they have no option than to give back to the community. “This leadership training is the best thing that has ever happened to me and I assure the youth of Ikorodu to anticipate proper Representation, Creativity, and Impactful moment come 2020, he said.

Appreciating the Lagos State Government, Jackson said “I’ll like to appreciate the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo Olu,The Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Mr Segun Dawodu, The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Mrs Yetunde Falugba, The Leadership Academy Coordinator, Mrs Rashidat Umar and everyone who contributed to the success of the 2019 IBILE Youth Academy as greatness was indeed incubated in a generation of world leaders who are ready to take their flight”.
