What Are The Different Types Of Cloud Computing !! by prikshitv(op): 7:47am On Dec 06, 2019
Over the days the business industry across the globe has evolved to be better and highly effective. With virtual evolution that occurred in the industry where everything even the data of the organizations was moved from Physical Platforms to the Virtual World. The introduction of Cloud technology has revolutionized the IT sector at a huge scale, where right from eliminating the need of storing the data on USBs to Hard Disk this has enabled the organization to update their data without stopping or pausing anything.

In various researches, it has been seen that Cloud is one technology that over the days gained massive popularity. It was seen that by the end of 2016, it was found that the industry there would offer 18 million jobs, this is was because of cloud computing technology. Whereas in 2017 it was seen that cloud computing was the hottest skill in the IT sector. The previous year it was seen that Azure and AWS were two of the cloud technologies that were top of the ladder in the field of cloud technology. Where the market share of azure was 29%. This reveals that cloud computing is one technology that is most demand in this very sector.

Keeping such statistics in play people aiming to take up a professional course in the Cloud technology often look ‘what are the types of Cloud Computing?’

Cloud Computing basically moves the organizational data from the physical systems to the virtual systems. However, this is not it, cloud services are generally offered to organizations depending upon the type these services fall in. By and large, there are four categories of cloud computing:-

Public cloud: It basically consists of SaaS services that are offered to users available on the net. It is the most economical option for the organizations since service providers not only offer SaaS services but also bare the cost of the infrastructure and the bandwidth. Such providers have limited configurations and the cost of it is defined by its capacity. Public cloud includes service providers like Microsoft Azure, Adobe Creative Cloud, AWS Saas, etc. Public Cloud is further limited to being a deficit of SLA specifications. Despite being cost-effective, where it highly reliable, with no maintenance cost and on-demand scalability the public cloud is not apt for organizations' sensitive information since it does not have a hefty security system in them.

Private cloud: It is generally used by large organizations like the MNCs, where it not only builds but also manages their own data centers for specific businesses and IT needs. This cloud is flexible enough in providing more control instead of flexibility, scalability, and customizability while improving business operations and asset security. Such infrastructures can either be built by the organization at their own premises or can even be outsourced from a third-party provider. This has the ability to maintain both the hardware and software environment over private networks only for the owners. Private cloud is one cloud that is commonly sued by large and medium-scale financial enterprises and government agencies. This includes cloud vendors like Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC), BlueLock Virtual Private Clouds, BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management, etc.

Hybrid cloud: It is a combination of both private and public clouds. This is done for making the business of the organizations more flexible, cost-effective and to have more control over the critical operations. Hybrid cloud equips organizations to take advantage of the public cloud whenever there is a need to migrate their workload. For example, businesses can use the public cloud to run heavy-duty applications like emails. Private cloud, on the other hand, is used by the organizations to offload sensitive material like the financial data, data recovery and by the scheduled date of maintenance and when there's a rise in demand. This includes cloud vendors like AWS, Microsoft Azure, IBM, Google, VMware Clouds, etc.

Being knowledgeable about the types of cloud computing can be a huge help for people thinking of taking up professional courses in cloud computing then be that Azure, AWS, VMware, or any other certification. For the simple reason that each of these vendors offers varied services depending upon the cloud computing which category that they are falling in.

Hence, professionals aiming to take up a VMware Certification, Azure Certification or AWS Certification gets a strong chance in the industry to stay at the top of the ladder since each of these vendors have a significant market share in the IT industry.

Thanks for sharing this thread. I agree that cloud services are divided into public, private and hybrid, but if you are asking about the different types of cloud computing, then is something more to add. Other than these types, cloud computing is also divided 3-4 major models that I am sharing here:

IaaS: Infrastructure as a service allows you to rent IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, virtual machines and storage etc., to build an application. The best IaaS providers are Amazon EC2, Linode and Compute Engine.

PaaS: Platform as a service is another cloud computing model where the desired environment is provided to build, deploy, run and test software. Google App Engine, AWS and Azure are reliable PaaS providers.

BaaS: Backend as a service or mobile backend as a service is also a convenient cloud computing model. Here all serverside tasks are done by the BaaS vendor, and you just need to focus on the frontend services. However, if you are willing to build a mobile application, then these https://blog.back4app.com/mbaas-providers/ MBaaS providers would assist you in a perfect manner. Among these BaaS providers AWS, Firebase and Back4App are the most appropriate ones.

SaaS: Software as a service is a cloud computing model that offers subscription-based application development over the internet. Snowflake, Oracle and SAP are reliable SaaS vendors.
