Today is 22nd of May 2021, the street is on fire, the youth have taken over the street and few local police station and outpost. For the past 12 weeks the NYSC corp members, both current, prospective and alumni have taken to the social media to express their grievance again the men of the Nigeria Police Force. They cannot take it anymore, being a corp member comes with the dignity of servicing the country but harassment from the ill-informed policemen has become unbearable.

Taking to the Social-media #PartofCorps #PartofThe10SHUN #RespectTheCorp is the hashtag, but all these seem to be a joke to the NPF and NYSC DG but on 22nd of May 2021 all that stop, the newly inducted corp members break into the street taking over a few police station and blocking way leading out of the Police HQ.

If this turns to full-scale assault who would back down first?

Here are some numbers

Manpower of the NPF: 371,800
The NPF has about 371,800 men with more than half of them are either off duty or protecting some top-class citizen. this will greatly reduce the number of available force to could be mobilized.
Also, since this is not a war against criminals but agitated youths, the IG will prevent the use of maximum force, hence the Armored vehicles and technicals will not be available for the police. they would have to manage the situation with tear-gas, few rounds of ammunition shot to the air and probably pull some muscles and showcase their taekwondo skills.

NYSC Annual Mobilization: 300,000
On the other hand the COPAs are military cadet who had received quasi-military training, they have been trained how to climb and manoeuvre around an obstacle low or high, some even had the opportunity to handle riffle, this gives them a hedge above a bloody civilian.

The COPAs would mobilize 300k but the numbers would soon increase into millions as some youth have had bottled-up resentment for the SARS and Policemen will join to support the COPAs. On the Social media, the celebrities like Tonto Dike, Bobrisy and some nairaland keyboard warriors will be waging psychological war on the NPF.

Verdict
The unrest will force the President to declare SOI and 24hours curfew. Been a Military General and who recognizes discipline in the army ranks, issues an Executive Order that the Police Formation should recognize the NYSC Corp Members as Military Cadets henceforth should be treated with respect and dignity of men in uniform.
