Nigerians una no like truth. Does a gospel artiste get a discount for his child’s school gees? Does he get a discount for house ren? Does he get free food in the market? Yet he spends his time energy and resources to create a work of art albeit gospel, you want him to leave it all in the name of the gospel. Over half of our secular artists started in the church playing and singing for free but when hunger wan finish men, dem japa. What is not good is not good,
Obakoolex:
That writer passion for gospel art is obviously for the Fortune and Fame!!!
The basis of gospel music is clearly to glorify God, as message and as a food to the soul....

Apparently, the career attributes can also not be left out but not with that such confrontation like that of a circular brand.

Were you paid for singing at home or at school? Or even church? If yes, you are a thief. If no, it doesn’t count.

The ones we sing in church and in school assembly and family devotion nko? Christian worship and praise is not secularism and business law.

So Sammy Okposo is not even the owner of wellu wellu? Gospel ministration is not by force, if you don't have the inspiration to do it, then go and serve God in other ways, rather than steal people's songs to perform to gain popularity. Talentless noise maker, nonscence, Asu Ekiye is right. Sammy should stop stealing and allow those whom God gave the gift to do it.

They are not entitled to payments how? Bible said a man's gift maketh way for him, so they should not make money from their talents? How would such artistes eat and fend for themselves?

Its the truth, since Asu Ekiye is not popular Lagos based Niger Delta artists have taken over his songs.

Imagine inviting them over to sing another persons songs
Na for Lagos Asu Ekiye was made more popular....it is just that he dropped out of circulation and we never knew what happened to him....at a time himself and his beloved wife( part of his singing crew) had challenge if child bearing, but God blessed them with a child way back.

There is something called copyright law. If you sing someone else's song without crediting them, it is theft. And stealing is a sin.

Thank you ooo...I dont know what all these people are saying

Why dont they hand over their entire salary to their colleague then if they really want to glorify God smh

He really brought that Welu-Welu song to life, and I am glad that he performed it with such a unique arrangement with a captivating video. He really blew that song up.

There is nothing wrong with being a singer and not a song-writer, as long as you correctly credit and pay the person who wrote the song.

I actually remembered Asu Ekiye when Sammy was ministering......#InsideLife
Come to think about his point, wokielemo as I learnt back then is a traditional song from Wayback even before Asu made a hit out of it.
Donnie Mcclurkin is a boss when it comes to remain X and he is always on point.
Travis Green too as well as our one and only Tim Geoffrey are not left out in this game. But you will agree with me that when they are done cooking, it is always on point.
If truly it is for God, let's join hands in celebrating the Jesus and ignore unnecessary trifles.
To Asu,maybe when you were featured it was the biggest in Africa but now......it seem to be the largest gospel concert in the world.
Kai, who else felt Planner Shakers do their thing.....this is what music is about! Let live music be live music!

Nigerians sef, it's common everywhere gospel songs do not have copyright laws protecting them against such. Even in foreign countries they sing each other's song very well.

There are choruses that are nobody's song but everybody's song.

Over the years gospel artiste has remixed the age long chorus into their brands but the original song belong to everyone.

If an artiste sings the original song, then that is no problem but if they sing the remixed version, it is not so cool.

But it is not any reason enough to bicker and fight, cos at the end of the day, God is praised and men are edified.
"everything should be done in moderation", says the Bible too.

Asu Ekiye, this is a wrong move. Bitterness like this would restrict you to only Niger Delta gigs. No right thinking Music Director or Pastor would see this post and still want to invite you to minister.

The gift bestowed upon you is to glorify God first but you see it as a pathway to stardom. Being invited to Experience doesn't mean you must perform your song, it's not a secular show. It's an atmosphere to worship God. If the song by Hillsong or Midnight crew is what would bring down the presence of God, you better keep your original song and sing that song.

The sole purpose is to glorify God.
