There is no gain highlighting the events that led to the re-arresting of Sowoye, the media has been filled with it. What I want to really know is why he was due in court on the day considering they had only just released him the previous day.
Was the previous proceeding adjourned to that day?

They had to be in court on Friday for the continuation of their trial.

On Monday, their case was adjourned until Friday when the trial judge threatened to arrest the head of DSS if Sowore and "Mandate" were not released before the next sitting (which was on Friday)

Thursday evening, DSS released the duo to show that they had complied with the order. Meanwhile, they had planned to rearrest him immediately after the sitting on Friday, which was exactly what they did.

Unfortunately for them, Sowore and ors can not be rearrested while on bail, except they flouted the bail conditions or committed a different offence for which they are on trial.

Even, if they'd committed any of the above, suspects can not be arrested inside the courtroom. This has never happened before, not even during the draconial military rule of the past.

What has been happening before was that security operatives will wait for suspects outside the court and rearrest suspects if they have any reason to do that.

This singular act of the DSS is a pointer to the desecration of separation of power, rule of law and the right of people as embarked upon by the administration of General Buhari.

Unfortunately for them, they can not win. Not even the military was able to do this and go scot-free.
