Sustainable Demonstration Farms (SDFarms) yesterday outlined plans to take advantage of the boarder closure to scale-up production of farm produce to enhance food security in the country.

Speaking during a media tour of the facility, the Executive Director, Stella Iwuagwu said SDFarm is an Abuja based integrated organic demonstration farm envisioned to promotes the practices of poultry, snailery, rabbitery, fishery, livestock farming, maggotry, vegetables and other economic crops to promote sustainable development, food security, health and economic wellbeing through innovative integrated farming.

Iwuagwu said SDFarm is modelled to accommodate students or schools who may desire for agro-based excursions or internships for undergraduates of agro-based disciplines with cutting-edge facilities to spark and sustain students interest in sustainable agriculture, adding that SDFarm also offer training, mentoring and consulting services to youths, women, retirees and others seeking to expand their economic opportunities.

She however enjoined all who desire for agro-based consulting services to feel free to contact SDFarm so that we can join hands together to support the policy of the federal government to lift 100million Nigerians out of poverty and generate employment opportunities for our youths through agriculture.
