18. Going to the lecture room very late.

Normal lectures start up by 8:00am , likewise all other departments. There are some major department and faculties that are competitive and tough in terms of admission intake and others. Students in this category will be much more than others and their capacity will fill the class to the brem.

Going to a far distance school, is like a new life with a new living,
This is very certain inside the classroom, you as a student who is determined to success must never engage in any act of bullying and gangsterism.

This is very rampant among student allover the country. unserious students are now found of this bad act. once assignment is given out, good student write and make research on the context of the assignment, while those on the other hand usually collect and copy what's been written from the original copy.

How do this act implicate most students ?

Since they are lazy and always fatigue to write and jot notes in the class, every lectures has their marking strategies and grading system to fail those kinds of student. How?

15. Having more new credit cards

Any students who believe in a philosophy of materialism and being an economic babbitry might regrets his/her college years when having more than two to three credit cards.

A lot of student now have additional ATM card to receive freebies, money and other materials worth from different peoples, sugar daddies and babymama's without the knowledge of their parents or friends.

14. Not asking for help

One is perfect anywhere, we all all moving unto perfection

A good student must seek for the knowledge and advice of others. Asking for help in this aspect has some limitation, but still, you can't be news in campus and you refuses to ask, that means you are fooling yourself.
A new student must ask for helps from others like.

Where is the SUG block ?
Where can I locate A.Z cafe ?
Where can I get a canteen to eat?

This are simple questions you can ask anyone that won't cause any up rise or argument.

13. Mingling with all and not few
Every individual has his/her stratified classes, yet, you as a new students, you don't need to mingle will all students but you must talk and cheer feelings with few .

Though, you have no cause to fight anyone but to be successful you must examine your colleague's character and behavior before you move on with them.

12. Not checking the department for update and news

You have no point or excuses when you missed the timely update on the departmental notice board.

First year student must take few periods out of the time left to check the department, important information might be dished out which could not reach the total number of the general population, but the departmental notice board will carries it. atimes, such notice might expires before 24hrs because it is something timely .

11. Not jotting down notes

Note taking and note making is very essential in our learning techniques.
When I lecturer comes to the class, what's expected of a students is to prepare for note jottings and after class, every one can make his/her comprehensive note to their taste.

A fresh student in the campus who never bothered about taking note might blame his/her self for such escapades after the semester examination result is finally out.

10. Hiding Bad Grades from parents

With this maxim akin to the subject arising " All hands are not the same" the fact is applicable that " We can't have the same grades despite we both read. Learn, practice, relax and pray"

A fresher who is going to an uninvited parties, ceremonies and other frivolous gatherings will surely mess up their lives over there.

Suddenly, you will realized that those friends you both went to the party with, are set of lauts, gangsters and thugs, and if you can't cope with that atmosphere, problem will arise because you are a gatecrasher.

08. Engaging in protest within and outside the campus

Its very sickening when a first year students of Nigerian tertiary institution is engaged in a protest in the campus.
Protest are meant for the Student Union Government (SUG) in conjunction with some highanked Non academic officials in the school against a particular issue either on the tuition fee or issues of sort.

A year old student in the campus must never engage in this act because it always boomerangs once they are held by the security agent it can lead to expel and arrest.

No parent advocate the support for lovers living together in the campus, especially the new students.
A great mistake most student make is by living in a couples life. Sooner than later, preparation for marriage will begins and if they can't meet up with their educational standard, problem will arise!

06. Too much Extra-curriculum activities

A good day to campus, as a new student, you don't have to engage yourself in all extra curriculum activities. Most activities aside form lectures and practicals are atimes more time consumed activities which all new students must partially stay away from to have a blissful academic days.
