POSITION: Personal Assistant (Finance) to a Chief Executive

The successful candidate will assume a strategic role in the overall management of the Chief Executive’s financials. S/he will bear the primary responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities pertaining to the Chief Executive Officer’s corporate and personal accounts. S/he will be responsible for optimizing financial systems, processes and controls with good working knowledge of information systems to enable work process simplification and mitigating risks to business needs to enable delivery on identified objectives.

LOCATION: Lagos

Key Accountabilities:
• Provides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives of the Group
• Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the Chief Executive
• Evaluates and advises on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action
• Provide the Chief Executive and executive management, if need be, with advice on the financial implications of business activities
• Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Chief Executive
• Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities
• Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
• Develops finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishing functional objectives in line with the Group’s objectives
• Establishes finance operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; implementing change
• Develops prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities; projecting acquisition and expansion prospects; analyzing the Group’s operations; identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement; accumulating capital to fund expansion and new business initiatives across the Group
• Develops financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; developing action plans. Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances
• Maximizes return on invested funds by identifying investment opportunities; maintaining relationships with the investment community. Reports financial status by developing forecasts; reporting results; analyzing variances; developing improvements. Updates job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Accomplishes finance and organization mission by completing related results as needed
• Reviews the depth of Knowledge, Skills and abilities of Finance personnel, advise and ensure learning interventions to bridge identified knowledge gaps while making sure that finance personnel are up to date professionally


Pre-Requisites
• Minimum of 10 years’ relevant finance experience
• BSc. Accounting/Finance. Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
• Professional qualification - ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA. CITN
• Commercially and financially astute, analytical, numerate
• Good leadership qualities with high level of collaborative skills
• Strong IT skills – preferably with good working knowledge of SAP and other Accounting ERP
• Tough and resilient. Not afraid of challenges and demonstrates high level of business ethics
• Flexible enough to put in extra hours
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills and the ability to influence positively across the organization.

Reporting
This position reports to the Executive Chairman/Chief Executive Officer.
