AS IHEDIOHA FLAGS OFF 1000 UNITS HOUSING ESTATE, ANOTHER PROMISE FULFILLED
By Ogu Bundu Nwadike, M.A
From the mind and will of God as expressed in the Holy Bible, every human being or animal should have a shelter over the head.
Shelter is one of the cardinal needs of human beings. Others are food, water and clothing. Another word for shelter is house. At the end of the day every human being reclines somewhere to get some rest and sleep after a day's toiling.
It's the duty and responsibility of every good Government to ensure that the people have shelter. Whenever the government core task of protecting lives and property of citizens is considered, the need for shelter is invoked.
In Imo State, the governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, CON, KSC, FNIFST, before he was elected into office, promised to address the need for adequate shelter or housing for the people.
Six months after his inauguaration as governor, Ihedioha has activated the process of getting decent modern shelters for the people of Imo State.
On Thursday, December 19, 2019, Gov. Ihedioha will be performing the ground-breaking ceremony for the 1000 units of houses at Azara Owalla, Emekuku, Owerri North LGA.
It'll serve as a landmark great record in the provision modern housing for Imo people; the first of its kind in decades. It's really monumental that 1000 houses will be built at the Azara Owalla Housing Estate!
According to a formal invitation to the ground-breaking ceremony, signed by Arc. Chidi Okoli, the General Manager, Imo State Housing Corporation, the construction of the 1000 housing units was a "part of the Rebuild Imo Agenda aimed at the promotion of the development of affordable housing for the benefit of the citizens."
It's now steadily being confirmed by Imo people that Gov. Ihedioha is passionate and compassionate about ensuring the welfare and well-being of Ndimo.
That's why he doesn't joke about the provision of basic social amenities and basic needs of the human person in Imo State. This provision of 1000 housing units for Imo people is a pointer to the love the governor has for the masses.
In the nearest future, the beneficiaries of the 1000 housing units would have translated from tenants to landlords. This is especially since the cost of the houses on completion are quite affordable to low income earners also.
And the payment schedule is such that effortlessly, the lucky beneficiaries will gradually pay for the houses after making the initial payment and taking possession.
Now, the interesting thing about the new regime of housing estates for Imo people is that they will be of immense benefit to many people. Nothing is as satisfying as a person living in his own house!
The good development courtesy of Gov. Ihedioha poses the fresh challenge to the host community by way of supporting and cooperating with the government in ensuring that the vision and mission of establishing the Housing Estate in their community wasn't a mistake.
For example, safety and security of the estate, during and after the construction of the houses, is of course that of the Government. But the indigenes of the host community also have the duty and responsibility of supporting the Government in ensuring the safety and security to lives and property in and around the Housing Estate in their community.
It's incontrovertible that with this very significant developmental project being commenced in the festive season of Christmas and New Year, Gov. Ihedioha has given Imo people another reason to be happy and joyful.
To God be the glory!

Despite all claims of governors building estate here and there but you hardly see a functional estate in Nigeria, just don't know what is wrong.

PROUDLY IHEDIOHA FLAGS OFF 1000 HOUSING UNITS. FANTASTIC.
CHECK THE COSTS WITH THAT OF THE 95 MOSQUES BEING BUILT IN JIGAWA STATE. THE DIFFERENCE IS CLEAR.
IHEDIOHA WILL COLLECT RENTS FROM TENANTS AND RECIRCLE THE COST FOR FURTHER DEVELOPMENT. A MOSQUE IS A PERMANENT FIXED OVERHEAD THAT WILL IN THE END BE WRITTEN OFF.
