The Nigerian upper legislature, the Red Chamber's House of Senate have confirmed the nomination and appointment of Muhammad Mamman Nami as the new Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service. He was confirmed at the Wednesday Plenary session.

Before adjourning plenary session till Thursday, the Senate President congratulated the new Chairman of FIRS and members of the Board;

“Congratulations to the new Chairman and board members of FIRS. They are coming at a time when our problem as a country is how to generate revenues. They have a lot of work to do and this Senate will work with them to meet their target.”

“We wish them the best of luck and our Committee on Finance will continue to engage with them.”

Senate Leader moves that all items on the order paper be stood down to another legislative day. Minority Leader seconds. Plenary is adjourned to Thursday, 19th December 2019.
