The newly inaugurated President of Ekid People's Union (EPU), Dr. Samuel Udonsak has assured that the organization will always speak the minds of Ekid people and also partner with critical stakeholders to ensure that the goals of EPU are achieved. The President gave this assurance in a media parley at his residence over weekend.

Dr. Udonsak emphasized the need for Ekid people to have one voice that is recognized, as nobody will pay attention to different people speaking at the same time. He maintained that the voice of Ekid people must not only be heard, recognized and listened to, but must also be respected.

"We must be able to mobilize ourselves, speak with one voice so as to be heard."

He added that the newly inaugurated executive under his leadership has some lofty programmes to execute, thereby seeks media partnership for effective execution.

The President stated that immediately after the inauguration of the new executive, he had embarked on a lot of consultations with key stakeholders as the new leadership of Ekid People's Union must be able to respond to both general and peculiar issues that is confronting Ekid nation.

Dr. Udonsak said the organization is focus with a new agenda to fast track development to the Ekid people, assuring that the new executive is determine and capable to deliver on it's core mandate. He therefore appealed that all hands must be on deck to move Ekid nation forward.

Addressing the issue of agitation for the creation of Core Oil and Minerals Community Development Commission, Dr. Udonsak stated that Ekid People's Union will brainstorm with stakeholders before taking a position on the issue, but noted that the decision to be taken will be for the overall interest of the people.

He frowned at the level of infrastructural decay in Eket Federal Constituency, promising to partner with relevant government agencies and other organizations to ensure that the issues are addressed accordingly without being confrontational.

The former governorship aspirant who is also a PDP Chieftain promised to run an all inclusive governance, soliciting for partnership and sharing of ideas for the organization to succeed.
