Look at how this Governor has made mockery of the Elevated stool of 'EMIR OF KANO' such effrontery.

Good to see he knows his place. Gandolla would just keep the heat on him dethroning him and restarting corruption investigation.

Why should the next governor restore the Emirate to original structure? How does it serve their interests?

If Sanusi enters into political alliance and concordance with a Ganduje opponent in 2023 and the opponent wins in 2023 Kano Guber'.

It's better for him, since the court has now ruled on the previous case, he has to accept the appointment.

you didn’t get it.

Sanusi is at crossroads here.

Accenting to the request on chairing the council means he has agreed to the creation of the new emirates

Not accenting brings about appointing a new chair to the council, leaving Sanusi to the back row. The respect and acknowledgement meant for him will definitely be directed to the appointed Chairman of the council (Emir of Bichi most likely).

The most intriguing thing he could have done is to abdicate the post.

But accepting the post seems better, Ganduje’s tenure ends in 2023. The next governor of the state may reverse this system introduced by Ganduje. Who gains?
Sanusi of course!

If you think Ganduje does not have plans to destroy Sanusi before 2023, think again!
El Rufai once told us in a tweet that the Fulanis do not forgive. I think he was serious with that Tweet. Ganduje has not forgiven and not forgetten that Sanusi was against his "reelection".
He is a gonner. That post is a poisoned chalice.

But again, Sanusi may have something up his sleaves.
It is good for them. May they continue to fight themselves like the Moabites and Ammonites. cheesy

Thanks for the wisdom of the Emir, politicians can cause trouble for anyone and they don't care. The king that Abacha dethroned was removed without any noise and nothing happened .Wisdom is the principal thing .Play along till the Govt disappear

Maybe his acceptance is cowardly, but he alone knows why he has chosen to accept. I suspect he's playing a tactical game with Ganduje. He may outlast him if he's tactical enough (Ganduje will not be governor forever, but if Sanusi plays his cards right, he may succeed in remaining on the throne till he draws his last breathe). Sometimes this sort of cowardice can be benefitial in the long run. Sanusi has always wanted to be Emir, and right now he's probably not willing to allow a Ganduje deprive him of his lifetime ambition.
what this things meant to me is that Sanusi will find it difficult to criticise bad governance in the state, this their traditional throne is becoming rubbish as the day goes by,this presidential system has not really improved us in terms good leadership, so much power to the president and governor to oppress others is not making sense to me any more, Sanusi have been known to be a critic of bad leadership now u want to cage him by impunity, our democracy looks more like dictatorship seriously.

Sanusi is far more read and far more intelligent than the Governor. He knows what he is doing. He is playing the fools role here but at the end he will be the wiser of the two. Governorship tenure has a time frame but traditional institution last for a lifetime.

That works as long he wins. If he loses he would be dethroned for being partisan. Then his new guy would expect him to not be critical of him. The last factor is the candidate could get support from the other four emirs.

I agree totally with your position. The executive arm (both federal and state) is too powerful, leaving room for abuse of power as we are seeing in this particular instance, amongst others. Our so-called democracy is a big joke.
