TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT CONTROL AT EVENT PLACES IN LAGOS

To Whom It May Concern,

In furtherance to the statement released by the Honourable Commissioner of Transportation, Dr Frederic Oladeinde, The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) wishes to inform the public of the necessary steps to take to ease traffic flow in and out of events; avoiding disruption to other commuters.

Henceforth, any commercial event centre, place of worship, night club/lounge, or private property must notify the General Manager of LASTMA in advance, especially, if it is perceived that their property would not accommodate the large numbers of vehicles that may be brought by their guests.

The LASTMA authority will be on hand to advise them on what to do rather than allowing the event to further aggravate congestion and obstruct traffic flow by indiscriminate parking, as this will attract stiffer penalties if caught as outlined in the Lagos State Road Traffic Law 2012 (Schedule 1)1.
