To All The Music Artiste, Start Up The Year 2020 With These Notes And See How Successful Your Year Will Be – Written by Mr. Unachi

Read Below;

1. Know why are you in the music industry. If its for fame pursue. If its for impact pursue. But I will recommend the second. For every sincere pursuit of purpose end result is always better of and long lasting.

2. Dont compete. You have any reason to. Except for positive competition but alas it might gravitate to something negative if you are not careful.

3. Define your craft and build skills. You need to be open to learn everyday.

4. Avoid pride. Fastest killer disease.

5. Learn to appreciate those succeeding. Their success won’t stop your shine.

6. Avoid gathering of gossips. Maximimze your time as a creative. Run from where they talk others down. Most times those are products of envy.

7. Do you. Don’t copy anyone. Even if you decide to copy someone most successful secrets taught don’t apply to everyone. Follow your path and grow.

8. Don’t undermine or underestimate yourself.

9. Avoid association of mediocre.

10. As you release every song don’t have an overly high expectations. At the end if you don’t see the result you expect you get hurt and discouraged. Do you and wait for your time. Keep on working.

11. Build positive friends in the industry. Don’t ever let anyone talk you off another. They talk you off but go behind to seek favour.

12. Appreciate every platform. Don’t compare any. Audiences and reach differ. As much platforms you get your song on be appreciative. Share the links.

13. It’s cowardice to feel your song on a Secular blog makes it bigger than it is on a gospel blog.

14. Create music with all sense of excellence. Music like is always said its a universal language so make content for the universe not your locality.

15. Engage media. Use all the available means to communicate and spread your content. Social media is your first market place. Don’t use a big phone for the phone it. It can only be stupidity and waste of data to have a smart phone and not promote your content as well as engage with your audience.

16. Don’t wait for big platforms / events. Create yours. Have a media meet and greet. Little concerts with friends. Sell out tickets. Don’t pressure yourself to do the big things start with the small and grow up. Growth is upward meaning you take those small steps and move up.

17. Don’t be greedy. There are people who love you and are willing to sacrifice their time and talent. You owe them appreciation monetary and otherwise.

18. Attend shows. You don’t have to be on the performing list to attend. If you do that before let it be in the past.

19. While you are very passionate about your music. Get something to do if the music is not paying yet. Get a job. Get a job. Get a job. Music needs money and I doubt you want to always beg people for support. It’s your passion please fuel it so it can burn.

20. Evaluate your every move. Talk with the right folks in the industry who will tell you nothing but the truth. Don’t have enemies. If there are people you can’t work with walk away don’t fight. The industry is a circle.

These are my personal opinion. There may be more. You can add yours while we work towards building a viable working industry in 2020.

In all of put God first, pray, plan and pursue.
