Job Title: Junior Underwriter (Team Member, Regional Underwriting & Claims)

Location: Kano

Job Description

We are looking to hire the services of an Underwriter who will be responsible for assessing insurance applications or proposals to determine suitability and terms for accepting into the company risk portfolio.
Job Responsibilities

Appraise risk proposed for cover and determine level of exposure and based on the exposure, determine premium rates and policy terms
Advise the client (insured or intermediary) via quotation slips stating premiums and terms of acceptance
Discuss and negotiate terms with the broker Issue policy certificates, documents and endorsements with appropriate policy terms and conditions
Advise (in consultation with the team lead) on any additional measures that may be required to minimize the impact and frequency of loss
Prepare relevant periodic reports assigned (Regulatory, Compliance and Internal Reports)
Qualifications / Requirements

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or Higher Diploma in Insurance, Risk Management or related field from a reputable Educational Institution
Minimum of one year relevant experience in Insurance industry.
