“Law for the poor or Shari'a Law"

By Mustapha Abduljabbar Esq.

Shari'a law is not a human law or rather put it positive law! It is a devine law that applies to all Muslims in respective of tribe, colour or social status. Once you believe to be a Muslim you concede to Shari'a law by default!

The banning of carrying opposite sex by commercial tricycle operators in Kano State is a welcome development in view of the fact that 95% of Kano State inhabitants are Muslims, whom in one way or the other consent to be governed under Islamic law!

However, we all know that commercial tricycle operators are not the only means of transportation in the State, there exists Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MIKIYA)! where opposite sex passengers on board the same aircraft in some instances even for their journey to the Holy land!

The question that has being occupying my mind is that will this new rule or order going to apply to aircraft passengers at MIKIYA or it's only going to apply to commercial tricycle operators in the State?

If the law is going to be applied only to the latter and exempt the former it will end up being a law for “the poor" not a Shari'a law.

Because, like I said earlier Shari'a law applies to all in sundry provided one is a Muslim!! And for a Shari'a law or edict to qualify as one it most fulfill the fundamental requirement of (عدل) Where this fundamental requirement is missing it will be something else not a Shari'a Law!!

As such, Kano State Government should come out and make their position crystel clear to the public; whether they are enacting positive law(Human law) or a Shari'a Law.

If the law is to be applied as a Shari'a Law, come January next year 2020 when the law is to be fully implemented I will pay a visit to Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport to assess its implementation!!

Finally, it's my hope and prayer that this law is not going to be a law for the poor!! May almighty Allah help anyone who struggles and strive in the course of his religion!!

This is how Osama bin laden, Anwar and Umar Farooq started. Why are we creating a fertile ground for terrorism and jihad with this shariah nonsense. Aren't we tired of Boko Haram

absolute Not at all, this is the reason why we are asking for restructuring where every region or state will power to draft the kind of law that match their belief and culture.

I will say what I want to say about Islam. I'm not scared of you. You Muslims are all cowards. Attacking defenseless people and women. Why don't you and Boko Haram try and raid a boy's school. You can't. Coward. All Sharia law does is try to control your women because you guys are not real men and scared of your women

Wear hijab, ride on this bus, work here. Woman do this. Woman do that. You need the law to keep your women faithful. Without the law, your women will leave you because you are worthless husbands and fathers.
