The castor farmer works very hard for 6 to 7 months to sell his castor for between #250,000:00 to #500,000:00 per ton of shelled seed depending on variety.

In the average the farmer gets this 1 ton from one hectare of farm cultivations , some beginners gets lower yield and some higher yield than 1 ton .

Let us consider selling the seed to processors, processing , and packaging into oil products .

It cost very little labour and money to process a ton of seed into oil .

A small 1 ton machine get it done in one day .
It may take a small
desk top domestic oil expeller about 2 weeks and 2 women may do local processing of
1 ton seed in just 30 days

From a ton depending on seed type , the processor gets between 400 litres to 600 litres also depending on method of processing, let us pick an average of 500 litre.
A litre of crude castor oil sells for between
#1,900:00 ,- #2,500;00
At average of #2000:00
500 litres gives #1,000,000:00 .
Processing can not cost up to #100,000:00 in any case .

Now let us consider the castor oil product manufacturer .

There are small content packaging factories all over the world .
The person who just buy the crude and pack into small containers depending on the use .

The castor packaging company makes between 200% - 300% profits in most of the products .

Manufacturing and packaging of most castor finished products are faster cheaper and easier than what farmers puts in .

It pays an Agropreneur to set a small castor product factory , adding value to castor and get the huge profit in castor business .

Exporting our seed and oil make us poorer.
Buying countries do very little work to improve quality and package products back for our consumption at over 500% cost
We buy back what we grow at very very higher price .

Nigeria consumes most of these finished products than even the maker .
