It Is A New Year Again! A Wake Up Call. by Giamem(m): 4:30am On Jan 01, 2020
A new year is here again. It always appear far away, you sometimes find it a surprise it is just a few months, few days away. You find it creeping upon you so fast, you begin to ponder if you still have the time to do all you have promised to do at the beginning of a new year.

Last year, you might have made new resolutions, or added or removed from the ones of years before.

It is time to ask yourself these today, this morning. Will you keep up the trend of the years before? Will you keep up waiting for it to be better, knowing quite well you are doing nothing in that regard? Will you keep up laying blames for your problems on adversaries, imaginary or otherwise? These and many more questions you should ask yourself this new year. The morning is always a good time to reflect. This is the time to assess yourself.

Will you wake up from that slumber you have put yourself to, or the shackles you have bound yourself with? Will you break out of that cage of yours, and educate yourself on those things that really matters. Ignorance and mediocrity will get you nowhere, neither will finding blames with the circumstances you find yourself.

It is time to truly seek knowledge. To find ways to do better the things you already know how to do. It is time to continue learning, to continue to build and develop yourself.

It is time to find and start something worth doing, to stop waiting for the universe to spare the time for you and lay it all at your feet. It is time to leave your comfort zone and brave the world spanning ocean.

If you do not ask, if you do not speak out, if you do not act. No one will see neither you nor your effort. This time you need to display yourself, to be seen, to be known for what you do.

The time for procrastination, silly excuses and laziness is over. It is time to take the reins of your own life in your own hands, you can either stand for yourself or be shut out.

Those habits that would not favour you, will cripple you. When you find yourself going back to them, know the time is right to discipline yourself. Do not give yourself the excuse of one last time. Be strict with yourself even when you have no need to look over your shoulders to see if anyone is near.

This is the time to know what truly brings you satisfaction. The material luxuries that leaves you with no significant savings at the end of the month, or the pride in yourself, your works, your achievements. In the end, you might find that what you think and see about yourself is that which truly matters, and it affects a lot of things in your life. The way you act, the way you speak, your attitude.

Be careful never to trivialise nor overblow yourself. Be modest and be true to yourself.
Happy New Year to you.

PS — I thank you all for taking the time to read. I hope that this year you truly find your way to becoming a better you, and whatever you find brings you joy and happiness.
