The Minister of State for Transport, Gbemisola Saraki, has frowned at the demolition of her father’s property, ‘Ile Arugbo’, by the Kwara State Government in the early hours of Thursday.

Recall that Governor AbdulRazaq-led administration had claimed that the property did not have a C of O, adding that no dime was paid to the state government before the land was “grabbed” by the Saraki’s father, late Olusola, during his administration as the Governor of the state.




Earlier today around 4:00 am, it was learnt, the security operatives dispersed protesters, including aged women within the complex while the demolition was going on.

However, in a swift reaction, the minister decried the governor’s decision to wipe out their history, saying: “We have a history and we are proud of that history”.a

A statement on Tuesday, by her special assistant, Titilope Anifowoshe, the minister renamed her movement to ‘GRS-OLOYE’ in perceived solidarity with the Saraki family.

The minister’s statement read in part, “So many things have happened this year, in fact, right up to the very dying hours of the year, but we will continue to take brave and faithful steps.

“We will continue to walk in the alight even though we have no idea what will happen next, though we are comforted, encouraged and reassured with this: ‘But they plan and Allah plans and Allah is the best of planners’ 8:30.



“So GRS Family, we are going to be known NOW as GRS-OLOYE Movement.

“We have a history and we are proud of that history. May Allah forgive the sins of ALL our dearly departed and may He make us worthy representatives of all that they stood for.”

Just like someone said this morning. I implore saraki family to go and buy another land in Ilorin and commit it to serve this same purpose if they want to continue Oloye dynasty.

They are very well educated and astute when it comes to legalities and such matters, but they can not go to court because they don't have the facts and documentation to stand on.

As rich and famous as they are with even uncountable mansions and properties all over Nigeria and outside Nigeria, why are they fighting to claim this small piece of land within the state's administrative complex?

Why not just show good faith and relinquish their claim in favor of the people of Kwara State, the state they love to say they love so much.

The same Saraki just forfeited 2 mansions in Ikoyi with stolen funds looted from the people of Kwara state.
