Pity some people are mistaking hailstone for snow. Op, Nigeria is not in low altitude neither can snow for in Nigeria no matter how cold.

With the change in climate after about 50yrs, the little you know in geography class is outdated..
Jos is 6°c yesterday, Biu is 8°c. So is just a matter of time before we witness Snow here.

Snow is different from hail.
For snow to fall, it goes beyond low temperature. Humidity is another factor. If only Jos and Biu can be so cold during the rainy season, there may be chances of snow falling.

It depends on the climate. An ocean current might be carrying a cold wind into West Africa.

Lol. ..I'm sure you are joking, right?

Geographers in the house this is for you, due to what I know Nigeria has just two seasons which is rain and dry season.

With my little knowledge I know snow can only fall in a place where there is constant cold and Nigeria is located in a geographical area that has low altitude.

But this season it seems the cold is worst than any other seasons, is it possible that Nigeria might have been relocated to an area that has a high altitude? Expertise over to you.

Thank you.
Thank God you mentioned we have two seasons in Nigeria namely Rainy season and dry season. So people should stop saying summer lesson for their wards.

From what I read, rain starts as snow and because the tropics is hot falls as water however for the cooler regions the snow remains.
