Why Are Men Regarded As The Head Of The Family? by LordShiva97(m): 3:50pm On Jan 07, 2020
In most cultures both past and present, men as husbands and fathers are usually regarded as the head and leader of the family. In the past this made perfect sense as men by the virtue of their superior physical strength seems the perfect fit for the role of provider and protecter for the family and society at large. But in the modern era, it still baffles me why this culture is still beign upheld. In modern families, Even if the wife and mother clearly possess the better leadership qualities and better source of income, she's still expected to be under the man's leadership.

Why are men expected to lead the family just because they were born with a penis and why should gender be the sole determinant of family leadership?

Religion, nature, and the olden days supported it to be so, but that was also when men were expected to be the bread winner over his home.

so, whoever pays the bill rules.

It should have been so. Whoever makes the bigger economic contribution should logically take the lead but even women who are breadwinners are still taught and expected to bow to the husband.
