Sadio Mane has won the 2019 CAF player of the year award. The Senegal and Liverpool forward have lifted the title for the first time after making the list for three consecutive editions.

Mane flawed Liverpool teammate, Mo’Sallah, and Manchester City forward Riyad Mahrez to lift the title in Hurghada on Tuesday 7th January.

There is no doubt that Mane played a major role in the success of Liverpool last season helping the club lift the Champions League title after several years of title drought. Also, his impart in the national team, Senegal, during the African Cup of Not (AFCON) can not be overemphasized.
