Venue : Emirates Stadium

Tale of the game

Any hopes Fulham have of arresting their decline and, in the process, winning away for the first time in 26 games, appear unlikely.

The fact is Fulham have NEVER won at Arsenal in the League, in 23 visits going back to their first visit in 1914.

And they have taken just three points from three draws while losing the remaining 20. Mark Hughes will take some solace from the fact that two of the draws have come in the Premier League, most recently in February 2009.

Last season, in what proved to be Roy Hodgson’s last League game in charge of Fulham, they lost 4-0 at the Emirates.

Arsenal have won three and lost two of their last five in the League but will not need reminded that both defeats came at the Emirates, where they have lost a total of three games already.

Indeed, those defeats, against Newcastle and Spurs represented the first time they have lost back-to-back League games at home since December 1997.

A third defeat would represent their worst home sequence of losses for more than 33 years. In February and March 1977 they lost to West Ham, Ipswich and West Brom at Highbury.

But they will be boosted by Tuesday’s 2-0 win over Wigan in the Carling Cup quarter-final, a game which featured Robin van Persie and Theo Walcott, and the pair could be considered against Fulham.

Samir Nasri should be fit after picking up a minor knee problem after coming on as second-half substitute against Wigan.

They are still without Cesc Fabregas, Abou Diaby, Manuel Almunia, Thomas Vermaelen and Emmanuel Frimpong.

Fulham, who last won away at Portsmouth, in August 2009, have taken two points from a possible 15, scoring just three goals in their last five games.

Arsenal (Probable, 4-2-3-1): Fabianski; Sagna, Squillaci, Koscielny, Clichy; Song, Wilshere; Walcott, Nasri, Arshavin; Chamakh.

Fulham (Probable, 4-4-1-1): Schwarzer; Baird, Hangeland, Hughes, Kelly; Davies, Murphy, Etuhu, Dempsey; Gera; Kamara.

You will win but won't get to the top. You lost the chance of going top after your loss to spurs. You will be second all the same.

Someone suggested that we change our signature to a uniform one just to put forward a united front for Bawolomo.
He was one of us and it could be our own way of showing a sign of respect, especially for those that were close to him.

Could you please change you signature to ''A True Gunner, A Good Man . . . .R.I.P Bawolomo'' if you don't mind.

Thanks.

This match has all the trappings of a babanana peel for us. . .Emirate, the fact we do not like taking advantage(United is not playing EPL till next week) and i just feel Schwarzer will have a blinder against us while today may be the day Fabianski decides to let Wenger knows the goalkeeping situation is still a MAJOR issue.

Another London club coming to the Emirates for a share of 3 points.

Sorry about my signature guys. I have a problem accepting and using words like "RIP".  No shakara here, just finding it hard to accept or deal with.

As per the game today, I disagree with the write up in the beginning. How can a straight two loss be a decline? We are two points away from the top and you call that a decline? I beg to differ on this one.

Keeper Issue,

I can see why Arsene may not have opted for schwarzer. Fabianski is proving himself in all honesty (even though most of us are still not concerned) and it will be an insult to bring someone like Schwarzer in and have him benched. It will be an ego/moral-killer for fabianski too if we start hunting for new keeper after he is starting to have a run of fine form in my opinion.

I personally think we need a new keeper, but I will go with the manager's decision for now. He knows better than I do when it comes to the whole keeper issue.

Today's game.

I hope we play well and kill the game at early stages. If our strikers can cut the mustard in front of goal with clinical finish, then I see us winning this game. If on the other hand, our strikers are cursed-with the "bendtner spell" then this game can go either way.

I honestly don't mind us selling Cesc. Nasri will probably be better than him in a few seasons time.

Nasiru! Boy is madt. Besides, can wenger get chamark down for a shooting drill? If he continues playing unselfishly like this, it might cost us in some big matches against a well defensive unit!

Great. Just freaking great!

Here we go again, the lack of clinical finish and being ruthless in front of goal is showing us up. It is like we never learn.
